Oh, hello, it's MSS Block Party Time!

Just dropping in to say hello on this fabulous World Card Making Day!  Not only is it WCMD, but it's also Market Street's Block Party weekend!

Woot woot!  Go here to link up your MSS creations for a chance to win an awesome prize pack or a guest designer spot!

I used the new Sweet Spooks set for this cute little spider--there's even a little web line stamp for him to hang from!  I stamped him on some A*muse Sleepy Hallow paper and paper pieced him with some Smokey Shadow.  The orange paper is Echo Park.  Aren't you in love with that fun Halloween-y but not scary font?

Would you like to know something I'm not in love with? Ugh, the new "titanium" blades from Fiskars. I bought a set to try in my cutter and they cut worse than the old non-titanium blades!  Look at that nasty edge!  Has anyone else had issues with them or is it just me?  I've even been trying the magazine-page-under-the-paper trick and it helps, but it's still a gross edge.   I think I'll be stocking up on the cheap blades for now.

Happy WCMD, everyone!

He is so cute (by spider standards)! And I love that font, too. The papers are fab (esp. the Amuse--very cool!). Thanks for the info on the blades.

Oh, goodness! Pure cuteness, Meg! I hear ya on the blades. Went back to the cheaper ones and makes a total difference. You can tell a difference going back through my posts. I think you can tell when I switched back to cheap and reliable! I thought maybe I had a bum blade, but crazy me went and bought another pack and they too, stunk it up (or shred it up)!
Hugs to you! :)

Oh, hello, cutie pie spider! And I wouldn't say that to most spiders. (Yuck!) That mix of patterned papers is so fine.
Speaking of yuck, YUCK to the new blades! That really is gross. I'm glad I decided to stick with my trusty x-acto/mat combination. (Not that I've seen the new blades in Canada yet, but still...)

Happy WCMD!!! What an adorable card! Now if this guy came down on me, I'd scream, but he does look oh so adorable on your card!!

Sorry about your new blades! I use a heavy duty paper trimmer for my stuff.

Firstly, SUPER cute card, MEG! Love the text background with the black inking around the edges- so cool. Secondly, OH NO! Don't say that about those blades! I just ordered some- I thought they'd be the answers to all my paper cutting problems... UGH!

That spider is (can't believe I'm saying this) absolutely adorable! He looks like a gumdrop with legs. Great paper choices, too!

Bummer about the blades -- I was waiting until I ran out of my stock of regular blades to try the new ones...now I don't need to. Sorry you got to be my unintentional guinea pig, though :(

How cute is this spider guy? Love the inking around the edges, and the spooky text. It sucks about the new blades, but I think it's fantastic you shared that info. I have a Fiskars, but it's a guillotine-style self-sharpening blade. I'm terrible on tools, but it's lasted 8 years so far.

This is too cute! Love the look of the spider against the patterned paper background.

Cute card! I'm shocked about the titanium blades though. Yuck.

This card is very sweet - like the text background behind this not-so-spooky spider, and the sponging around the edges is a nice touch.

You are not the only one - I am quite paper trimmer frustrated myself at the moment - my Fiskars blades need to be changed every 5-10 cards 9and I am not exaggerating) or they shred the paper too - it stinks! There has to be a better trimmer out there.
