Dear Santa (from the dog)

Now that this doggy has Santa cornered, I wonder what she would like to ask him...
Oh, sweet little doggy, I'm sure you made the "good" list!  I had so much fun paper piecing "Santa's doggy welcome" from Eat Cake Graphics that I may have gone a little overboard, as in, yes, I paper pieced Santa's glasses and doggy's tongue.  The sentiment was cut on shimmery paper (the very definition of "good") using Chowderhead font.  The background paper is "Twas the Night Before Christmas" paper from Amuse.

Speaking of Eat Cake Graphics, my "four month" design team gig there is finally drawing to a close.  Holly has been so laid back and easy to work with.  I'm forever grateful that she chose me to be on her design team, especially since it was my very first one!  ECG images make me so happy, so you certainly haven't seen the last of them.  If you love them too, Holly is looking for a few good stampers for her next team.  See all the details here and don't hesitate to apply--I would love to see one of y'all on there!

In other design team news, I am also stepping down from Market Street Stamps.  This week is the end of my six-month term, and although Angelica was nice enough to invite everyone back, she has such big plans for the next year that I wasn't sure I could keep up.  Angelica and Steph have been such fun to work with and I can't wait to see Market Street really take off to new heights this year!

As much fun as these design teams have been, I'm looking forward to starting the next year with absolutely no commitments but to enjoy my stamping.  I've gotten a little caught up in the howmanycardspublished/designteams/followers race and it's starting to take the joy out of crafting. I'm even debating about giving up blogging for a bit in the new year, but that does seem kind of drastic.  I do hope to have a nice big purge and clean up of my stamping room, then start the new year off with a fresh clean crafting slate.  That would be splendid!

no...............leave whatever teams you have to, but don't give up blogging!! I'd truly miss your sense of humor and your outstanding creations!!!

I was actually toying around with the idea of applying for ECG design team because I love their stamps and I STILL have not bought any. That $30/credit/month was very tempting, but then again...I'm afraid of the commitment, but it's nice to hear that Holly is laid back!

You did a great job with market street stamps too!! I know they'll miss you, but I know you'll keep using all their goodies!

OK, now on to the card...........LOVE IT!!!!!

How cute is mr doggy on top of Santa!! Great job paper piecing!! I love the background paper too!!!!

You rocked it again!!!!!!!!!!!

This is absolutely adorable, Meg! I'm impressed with the lengths to which you went with your paper piecing. So worth it because everything is so cute. :) I'll miss seeing your DT creations, but I understand your thinking. I do hope you'll continue blogging--I do love reading all you have to say! Your writing style is so fun. But you should definitely go the way that brings you the most joy. Whatever you decide, enjoy your big purge and clean slate!

Holy cuteness!!! All your cards make me smile and that's why I love coming here... well, aside from the fact that you are an AMAZING friend. :)

I hear you on getting caught up with the pressure of meeting expectations but I agree with Maria and Emily. Do NOT give up blogging. It's supposed to be fun! I know that even though you won't be designing for any stamp companies, I know you'll still be BUYING the ones you love and that's what I'll look forward to seeing you create with!!

Did you not recently accuse ME of being an insane paper-piecer? And you paper-pieced Santa's glasses and the puppy tongue? :D What an awesome card, Meg!

Love this, Meg! Totally get the stepping back from things, but don't give up blogging. Maybe it will be come fun again, if you eliminate the stuff that was bringing you down. I like my design teams, but I totally had to quit submitting to magazines. That was becoming more of a "job" and sucking the life out of my craft, so I quit submitting. Guess what? It worked. I also have been doing a bit of scrapbooking. I don't consider myself a great scrapper, but it has been fun and that is what matters in the end.

LOVE your work and hope you continue to share it with us! :)

Hugs!

You've done a wonderful job with both companies :) Pressure isn't a good thing to be feeling...and I hope stepping back takes care of that. It shouldn't be stressful, but I can see how it would become so. I do so hope you won't take a big blog break - although you should if you need it, but I would really miss you!

Holy carp! I forgot to mention yer card. D'oh. It's adorable. Love the image, and how perfect is the sentiment???
I think that might be Abby. Especially the tongue hanging out. However, with the kids watching Santa videos today she barked every time Santa spoke...hmmm....

You KNOW my love for ECG AND dog images Meg - this is terrific! I hope this doesn't sound selfish but I do hope you won't stop blogging altogether - I love seeing your creations (and Addi pics of course!). Merry Christmas and a happy & healthy new year to you and yours!

At this crazy time of year I can totally see where you are coming from but I think in the New Year and a Craftroom sort out will make all the difference...they say a change is as good as a rest!! so perhaps dropping the design teams is the perfect cure although I've really enjoyed seeing your creations for both companies :)

I adore this card...typical funny design I expect on your blog, LOL!

Hope you have a Wonderful Christmas and a restful New Year :)

I am so amazed at the detail in the paper piecing. My son just wandered in finds the little dog as cute as I do.
I do love your blog and your style, but it is your blog, if you need a break go for it.

Meg - we love ya and completely understand! When it starts becoming too overwhelming, and not as much fun as it once was, it's time to change things up a bit. You're such a wonderful person and I so enjoy reading your blog and seeing your creations - I won't be far! Check in from time to time, we'd love to know how you're doing. ;) But, don't worry, I'm sure I'll be around! :) :) Hugs, Angelica
