Makes you want to order a shake from the car-hop, doesn't it? I stamped the Clear Dollar Stamps Cruisin' Classics stamp onto blue paper that was the backside of some dp. I used a white gel pen for the fins, an American Crafts silver pen for the bumper (I need to find a replacement Prang metallic pen, I liked that one better), and copics for the tires and tailights. And of course I had to Glossy Accent it up! I stamped the license onto a piece of white paper and paper pieced it on. I used some PTI Bitty Box paper and SU Holiday Lounge for the dp, and heat embossed the "cruisin'" in black.
This K&Co paper makes me so happy! So many fun color combinations! And it has three sheets per pattern, so I feel I can cut it up at will. I copied the "polaroid" idea from a card earlier this summer and made the scene from PTI Summer Sunrise (embossed), SU Bermuda Bay (cut with big scallop nesties and inked with PTI Fresh Snow), and PTI kraft (torn). I paper pieced Poochie's surfboard with Kiwi Kiss and some red patterned paper, and colored his shirt with a blue Sharpie and red Copic.
In more saving news, Gina K has a $10 off $35 offer on her blog today (good through Sunday). FYI, she lots of October Afternoon paper pads if you're
I would also like to make this post really long and say how appreciative I am of the fact that I have a hubby that supports my stamping habit wholeheartedly. I read some of the "my husband doesn't care about my stamping and won't let me spend money on it [which is a whole other topic] and he just thinks I'm silly" posts on SCS and it makes me sad. To tie in with the Hallmark card conversation from the other day, the first summer I started stamping, my husband bought me a $5 birthday card "just so you could see how much you could sell your cards for since yours are so much better!"
I am a lucky. I hope y'all are luckies, too.

Meg, I'm LOVING these two cards! Those matchy-matchy papers are gorgeous and so are the layouts.
Thanks SO much for mentioning the GinaK sale. I almost ordered last night but was falling asleep after that martini so I thought I'd hold off. ;) I'm glad I did!
I totally agree with you about the poor ladies whose hubbies don't support their creative outlet. It makes me sad! I'm sure their hubbies have ridiculous hobbies, too, that they wouldn't think twice spending money on. Now that's just maddening! So cute of your DH to get you a $5 card. :D I sell mine for more and I'm SURE you could, too!! In fact, my clients tell me I'm not charging them enough. :O
Cute cards! That car one would get you pretty far here in the D.
Yeah, what is up with those goofy hubbies? Our arrangement is that we can give our hobbies all the love and dollars we want (you know, within reason). My hubby loves my creations! And...I love his CD collection, interesting watch collection, and his iPhone addiction (which has rubbed off on me!).
Have a delightful day. I will!
PS cool non-holiday use of holiday paper, too!
Meg! I love both cards but am totally in love with the second one! I love the coordinating papers and your torn "beach"......tooooo cooooool!
I'm a lucky! My DH loves seeing my scrapbook pages and cards. He sometimes, when I'm finishing cleaning or doing some chore, asks "do you want/need to make a card or craft or something?" He knows how much I like to paper craft and how little time I get to spend doing it. He's great! I'm glad your DH supports you too. :)
OOOoooo!! These are just fab, Meg! Love the retro look on both. That car is incredibly cool :) LOVE the polaroid idea--I'm totally gonna "recycle" that idea ;) I'm a lucky, too!! My DH has is own hobbies, so we are both respectful and supportive, which is wonderful. Bliss!!
Great cards!! The first one is SOOOOO retro! I love it! Love all the details you did to it too!
That little surfer dog is CUTE!!!
I too have a Fabulous hubby. You should see the room he built for me! I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Plus - he let me retire at the ripe old age of 38!!! Now I'm considered a 'serial volunteer" but Karma is treating us well!!!
Glad your hubby is so supportive :)
Maria
Full of awesome...that TCP card rocks my world (esp. the sand and sea!).
