My Mom Doesn't Share.

When we went on vacation with my parentals this summer, I brought along my card stash for my mom to shop.   A couple of weeks ago she was telling me that her friends have really been enjoying them, then she went on to say that my dad wanted to use one and she told him to get his own!  ;)  So I thought I'd make a set of notecards for my dad that only my dad would use.  Before you see them, though, you need to see a picture of my dad:
So here are the notecards:
I KNOW!  They are too cute, aren't they?  These first two I also made with the Embellish Stripe Color Trends Challenge in mind (my dad is not a big fan of the kraft so I went with this dark cream instead).  The eyeglasses and mustache were Silhouette cut files.  Here are the other two:

I mean, seriously, I can't even handle the argyle and I made the card!  They went on their merry way today so I'll report back later to let you know if he liked them and if my mom tried to steal them.

I made some other fun cards this weekend, but they are either being submitted or being sent to faithful blog readers, so I'll just have to tease you about those I guess.  My evenings are currently being used to watch all of The Good Wife Season Two before the new episodes come on.  Mr Corgi and I are now officially addicted (plus it now has actors from Law & Order, Gilmore Girls, Sports Night, and Friday Night Lights so I think if Michael Cera could guest star it will have officially checked all my favorite tv show boxes).  (No spoilers in the comments please!)   Speaking of shows that feature actors from other favorite shows, Parenthood starts tomorrow (featuring Gilmore Girls, Sports Night, Friday Night Lights (x3), Everwood, and Arrested Development actors).  And Amazing Race starts Sunday! (I should totally make a set of notecards for Phil that just have an inquisitive eyebrow on them!  That would totally not be stalkery, would it?)  What shows are you excited about returning?

Oh Meg, these cards are too much fun! And I thought kraft was THE ultimate masculine cardstock, and now here's your dad, the second male who doesn't get it. Hmmph. Yes, Good Wife is high on my list, as is Castle; it's such a good-natured show, with crime. (And has Canadian actors!) I keep waiting for that Arrested Development movie...

I'm sorry to hear that your mom doesn't share (a MOM?!? Not sharing?!? Really??), but it's really not a bad thing if it led you to make these absolutely adorable cards. Meg, these are fabulous!! And I just *dare* your mom to try to steal these. I mean, (1) I doubt her name is "Marty" as well--good thinking putting your dad's name on there--and (2) she just doesn't look like the type able to pull off the mustache and glasses look!! So I think they may be safe. I hope your mom and dad can play together nicely again now that they each have their own stash (of cards, that is, not 'stache!!)

I'm just loving these cards - how perfect are they for your dad??
My mom doesn't share either - but even worse, she hoards my cards & thinks 'really hard' before she decides if the recipient is worth one of my cards. LOL!
Hmm, tv...I've just recently watched the first season of True Blood (whoa!) and am waiting impatiently for season 2 from the library. I also had the first 2 seasons of Castle, and I love it. As for waiting for the fall premieres, Bones, House, Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice...and I'll stop there. I watch A LOT of tv :)

How super cool for your Dad to have his own 'styled' cards, they're so much fun :)
Let's hope he doesn't decide to go clean shaven now!

Aye! These are too funny! They definitely resemble your dad (except the fact that they have patterned paper). The one with the Rocket Age OA papers is my fave....love the numbers as a background. I didn't know Amazing Race starts this weekend! Better get my DVR set.

Oh man, I love these cards so much. The resemblance is uncanny! Well, it's pretty canny, since it's intentional, but you know what I mean. Plus, great name!!

Love that your pops sends out his own notes. I bet he keeps at least one for himself, though ;)

Oh, my dvr is soon to be packed. Runway's already going, and everything else starts this week -- and we've just become addicted to Modern Family, adding yet ANOTHER must-watch show to our list. My butt will be one with the couch before long if I don't watch out!

MEG! I love the cards you made for your Dad...just perfect! Thank you sooo much for the honest feedback about my dr jeckyll/mr hyde card. I'll try making those changes and finish up each of the left/right side cards today. I have to say, Corgi butt makes the BEST blog header ever. Adorable.
