The card I have to share for today was for my niece, who turned 11 on Tuesday, which was 1/11/11.
The banner and alpha stickers are from Echo Park "A Walk in the Park" pack, and the numbers were printed onto Cosmo Cricket "Girl Friday" patterned paper.
Oh, and did I mention she got a hamster for Christmas? So of course I had to use charming Inkadinkado stamp, which I colored with copics. We couldn't have this guy scampering about all by his onesie, so I made a ball for him to play in. I cut a circle out of clear cardstock, heated it a bit with my heat gun, then stuck it between two small melamine nesting bowls. I kept heating it through the gap between the two bowls, slowly pressing down on the top one. It's not a perfect sphere, but I thought it was a pretty good imitation with what I had on hand. Here it is in close-up:
Can't you just picture him saying "I'll go get my ball!" like the hamster from Bolt?
Hope you guys go get your ball and find some adventure this weekend, even if it is just in your stamping room!

The hamster ball is a work of genius! Hammy himself is pretty darn cute, too. And I love how those patterned papers are working together. It's a FAB card! (Well, except that now The Hamster Dance song is roaming around in my brain...) :P
Dang it, I have to retype my comment. What was I saying?
Oh, the hamster ball is super-inventive, the design is super-fun for such a cool birthday, and I bet you really would have liked some dies for all those ones!
{I'm sure the first comment was wittier, but blogger ate it.}
This is adorable, Meg!! I love those Echo Park papers--perfect for this fun card for your newly minted 11YO niece. The hamster in his ball is hilarious! And I love that banner, too. :)
This is super cute, Meg! The papers are fabulous. I LOVE that little hamster. I have one of him holding a cookie and I always thought it was a dog! It also looks like the Uglydoll Babo. Hmmm.
How neat to turn 11 on 1/11/11 !! What a special day for her indeed and you made her one special card!! I love that you put the hamster in the ball!! Clever girl!!!
Great papers too!!
How'd I miss so much on your blog???
