One of my stamping friends recently acquired a new kitten, so I thought a congratulations card was in order:
See what I did there with the "congratulations" and "cat"?!?! ;) Of course I did this with my Silhouette. The font is Chowderhead. I made a text box for each letter so I could easily move them around until I got the look I was going for, then I welded them. I also took each letter in "cat" and scaled it to about 96%, then welded those three letters together to print in black. The cat I traced from a clip art picture. The paper is, of course, Echo Park.
Speaking of things that Addison does not allow in our backyard, we got a new bird feeder this year called a "squirrel buster." The other day was the first time one of the squirrels made the leap to it, but the bars are on a spring, so the squirrel's weight makes the feeder holes close. Here's a sequence of photos I took with him getting very frustrated and finally giving up:
Haha, suck it, squirrel! If you're interested in your own Squirrel Buster, we bought ours here at amazon..
Hope you're having a great squirrel-busting day today!

Why I Haven't Been Posting
I think Kitty Noodles from Eat Cake Graphics has had the same type of day (or week, or month) that I've had recently. :) It's been so crazy, I made this card for last week's Splitcoast's sketch challenge and a new one is already up. I thought Kitty's whirlwind day would coordinate great with the Journal Blotch Circle. I printed the sentiment on my computer, after doing a few test prints and using my stamp-a-mag-jig to make sure everything would fit. Kitty Noodles is stamped and heat-embossed, then painted with an aqua painter and Wild Honey Distress Ink. The patterned paper is Studio Calico's Anthology collection, and the kraft paper was stamped with Skipping Stones Design's Grunge stamp set. Core'dinations paper sanding, sewing, distressing, and tim holtz tiny attacher attaching finished it all off!
I also have some happies to share:
I won this fabulous blog candy from Angela of Paper Cupboard. Look at that fantastic card she included--she has magical powers when it comes to mixing patterns. Maybe some of her powers will rub off on me when I use those great flowers! Thanks, Ang!
I was also featured last week on The Facebook for PTI's Make It Monday challenge and I won Embellish Magazine's Music Challenge. Yippee!!
Even more exciting, I've been awash in comments and followers. Each time one of y'all takes the time to leave a happy or even, gasp, choose to follow me, it warms my heart!
But the best happy of all? DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME, BABY!!!!
Share your recent happies in the comments!

Harumph.
Is there anything funnier than a disapproving bunny? Well, perhaps a disapproving cat.
Yup, "Marmie Decides to Leave" from Eat Cake Graphics cracks me up every time! And such a quick and easy card...stamp Marmie and color with copics. Stamp ornament from PTI's Tiny Treats: Christmas. Stamp again on scrap paper, color ornament, cut out and adhere. Spell out "paw humbug" using The Cat's Pajamas Coolvetica alphabet set (bonus: the "n" can be a "u" so you can stamp the whole phrase at once). Giggle to yourself the whole time.
And more news to giggle over....we may have a white Christmas here in Alabama! Wouldn't that be exciting!

im in ur stamp room
...makin one layer cards.
Ok, so I'm a bit addicted to lolcats and loldogs and, yes, sometimes accidentally slip into lolspeak. I ended up using it on two of my three one-layer cards for Susan's One Layer Wednesday challenge to "be funny!" Could these two monster be any more adorable? And of course they're colored in green and pink, because that is what my DH and I wearing in almost every photo of us as a couple. I stamped the two monsters (from a Micheal's set) using versamark on SU Not Quite Navy, then clear embossed. I then colored them using prismacolor pencils. I spelled out the sentiment with The Cat's Pajamas Coolvetica set, and again versamarked & clear embossed. I can hardly wait to give it to my DH!!
No, I don't know when I'd give this card to someone for real, but I've just come up with about 27 scenarios in my head where I end up mailing this to someone that has annoyed me. Although my DH and I use this phrase a lot in response to being proven wrong by the other[1], so maybe I'll use it for an ironic "I'm sorry" card. The cat is from Eat Cake Graphics, colored with copics; the sentiment is again TCP Coolvetica.
Teehee, another Eat Cake Graphic image that cracks me up! I stamped her onto SU Almost Amethyst and colored with prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is also from ECG, stamped in Memento Sweet Plum. I think the ric-rak came from a grab bag, because I know I would never knowingly buy ric-rak or purple.
[1] I give you this dramatic re-enactment as an example of the proper use of "whatev."
scene: our kitchen, after finding a tick on Addison that had not burrowed into her yet
DH (smooshing tick with paper towel): This thing won't die!
Me: Spray it with hairspray! That always works.
DH: No, it's still going. I think you have to set it on fire. Where's the fire stick?
Me: Here it is, and don't you think we should take the paper towel soaked with hairspray outside to set it on fire?
DH: Maybe.
scene: now outside on the concrete patio, me has brought a glass of water to extinguish flames
DH: Fire, heh, heh, fire, fire! Huh. (looks quizzically at fire) Ummmm.....
Me: Would you like this glass of water to put out the ball of flaming paper towels?
DH: Whatev.
